Yellowpages search still sucks

Monday, 14 July 2008

Here’s why the yellowpages search still sucks from the point of view of those who matter: their users.

Try searching for “Travel Inn Hotel in “Carlton Victoria” and you’ll get 10 results, all for the same Carlton Inn Hotel, situated on the corner of Grattan & Drummond Streets:

Yellowpages search still sucks

The reason for this stupidity is because the Travel Inn Hotel is listed under multiple categories and Yellowpages prefers to pollute the available space of their users browser by listing the same entity multiple times, rather than showing the entity only once and listing all the available categories for that entity as simple hyperlinks.
