Sensis relevancy - deux
Friday, 6 October 2006
Recently I documented the poor communication skills of the people behind Sensis, the yellowpages and whitepages company, now also promoting themselves as “The search engine for Australians”.
Although it appears that Sensis have made improvements in the poor relevancy of their search engine, their lack of understanding of even the most basic of customer enquiries still poses significant problems.
After noticing that our own website appeared to have been recently dropped by their search engine and contacting their technical people twice without a response, I decided that contacting their sales people might improve my chances:
Ok, I’m doing this because I’m getting no answers from two attempts to contact you here:
http://sensis.com.au/contact_us_comments.do
Can you please tell me why a search for “lutrov communications” now produces no links to this website:
http://lutrov.com/
One week later, I received this nonsensical reply:
Thank you for your recent e-mail regarding adding your e-mail address to the site.
E-mail addresses are not included with basic listings on this site. In some cases, you might find an e-mail address is listed if the business has decided to pay for a Yellow Pages(r) OnLine Solution, which displays their full details. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you require further information.
Kind Regards,
Sensis Customer Care
Email address? Huh? I’m asking about their search producing no results and they’re telling me about email address exclusions from “basic listings” of businesses. And then they encourage me to contact them if I require further information.
So, not only is their search engine having trouble with relevancy but their staff seem to be having considerable difficulty providing pertinent answers as well.
