Linkedin groups spam

Linkedin groups was designed to be a place for members to form communities around professional interests.

But because Linkedin groups are also unmoderated, spammers have already started invading the discussion board and have pretty much succeeded in driving away those members who might actually contribute real value to those groups.

Just a small sample from some of the groups I've been involved in:

I would like to introduce Digital Links, web development company to provide web development services to you with cost effect. I also invite you to visit our website to know more about services.

and

Freelance web designer offers you the most cost-effective and user-friendly web site content management solution which enables you to easily add new web pages or update your web site information without the requirement of any programming or computer language training.

and

You give us a design in any of common formats (PSD, PNG, JPG, GIF ) and you receive a high-quality HTML or XHTML-CSS page in 48 hours. Let us to code for you!

Exactly how does this type of content qualify as a discussion topic? It seems more like blatant advertising, as far as I can see.

This is exactly the sort of stuff which pollutes most public forums and until Linkedin find a way to moderate their discussion board and remove these spam messages, their service will remain much less valuable than they originally planned.

Due to the large volume of spam, comments are disabled. If you have anything relevant to say, you can leave a , or contact me directly.
