Ebay and the Skype hype - deux

A couple of years ago I wandered if the Ebay executives made some bad decisions while under the influence of alcohol. Now, Australian IT reports that:

"Ebay's original plan was to integrate Skype into its online auctions so, for example, sellers and buyers could call each other instantly using their computers. This course seems to have been abandoned by Ebay."

Now, that was money well-spent, wasn't it?
