Many companies claim as part of their “core values” that their most valuable asset are the humans who work for them. Why is it that when many of those same companies get into financial strife, the first thing that is slashed is this same “most valuable” asset?
Is it possibly because their “core values” aren’t worth the paper they’re written on because they’re really only designed to fool the customers? Or is it because the inept management of those companies exhibit a consistent inability to think long term, as evident by their spineless actions at a time when business gets a little shaky?
